Academic Year

Our academic year is divided into two semesters, the first from February to June and the second from August to December.

Food and Lodging

The EEL-USP does not offer dorms or student accommodation; the students themselves must pay for their housing expenses in Brazil. However, Lorena offers good options of accommodation with very affordable rents.

There is also the possibility to share houses or apartments with other students in order to reduce costs. Brazilian students are very receptive to colleagues from abroad. However, the exchange students must search and find his own accommodation, according to their interests and financial conditions.

EEL runs a low cost restaurant, which serves lunch and dinner during the week. Any regularly registered student may apply for food assistance, which consists in the exemption to pay for meals in university restaurants.

Portuguese Course

EEL does not hold Portuguese classes for foreign students on its campus. This type of course is offered in the city of São Paulo, distant about 170 km or about 3 hours by bus / car from Lorena. In Lorena it is also possible to find personal teachers to have Portuguese classes, with affordable fees.
